It didn’t take long before some clever people got on to the task of rooting the Asus Transformer that has just recently launched. Heck the tablet hasn’t even launched in the states yet and already we got this sexy new tablet rooted, with a price tag of just $399, we here at TabletFans expect this tablet to be one of the hottest Android tablets of 2011.

Notable Android Hacker Genius Paul O’Brien decided to focus his coding laser beams on the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and has successfully reported that he has in fact been able to hack the Transformer!  Mr. O’Brien has also set up a place for Asus Transformer fans to congregate here.

The Eee Pad Transformer features a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display, a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, and runs Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb. We all know about the wonders of rooting, and it really looks like Asus hasn’t made this a challenging endeavor. We can only imagine the amazing custom ROMS soon to come!

The beauty of rooting is that it truly liberates your device so that it can do your bidding, no restrictions, no interventions. You gain complete access to the whole file system, and the ability to install unsupported apps and access portions of the file system and settings that would otherwise be closed off

As we’ve mentioned numerous times – we love this tablet. The fact that it’s got a keyboard dock that ads physical QWERTY goodness and extends the battery life, and the fact that is now rooted make it almost too good to pass up!
